Morphology change of single-crystalline SiN nanomaterials

Several types of single crystalline SiN nanomaterials were synthesized by heat treatment of Si powder. In the case of heat temperature at 1300 C, almost all products were SiN nanowires. On the other hand, the suspended SiN nanosheets with a width wider than 3 m and a thickness range of 1.5-4 nm were synthesized for the first time by the heat treatment at 1400 C. Several nanosheets have scrolled edges possibly due to their ultra-thin thickness.
